• 🔗 Link: OpenAI released its ChatGPT API. It's called 'gpt-3.5-turbo' and is 10x cheaper than existing models. What's more, they've achieved a 90% cost reduction for ChatGPT since December, priced at only $0.002 per 1K tokens.

• 🔗 Link: Instacart and Shopify have already adopted ChatGPT's API. Shopify built a personalised assistant for shopping recommendations, while Instacart built 'Ask Instacart' which allows customers to ask about food and get “shoppable” answers informed from product data.

• 🔗 Link: TikTok dropped a new AI-powered face filter called 'Bold Glamour'. I've tried it—it works (scarily good). I am slightly worried about the secondary effects of the advancements in AI tuning on our digital selves. Where do expectations lie when you meet that person... in person?

• 🔗 Link: Snapchat launches "My AI", an AI chatbot powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT. My AI can be accessed through Snapchat+'s subscription service and can perform tasks like answering trivia questions, recommending gift ideas, planning trips, suggesting recipes, and writing haikus. I'm now guessing most social platforms will have their own version of ChatGPT baked into their platform.

• 🔗 Link: Romania's prime minister unveils AI adviser called "Ion" to tell him what people think in real time. Ion's main task will be to scan social networks to inform the government of Romanians' proposals and wishes.

• 🔗 Link: Waymark is fine-tuning GPT-3 to power and scale done-for-you video creation. It's one of the most powerful ways for businesses to introduce their product through TV commercials and digital video ads.

• 🔗 Link: DeepMind co-founder Mustafa Suleyman and LinkedIn Creator Reid Hoffman’s start-up, Inflection, is in talks to raise $675M. They are building a personal assistant for the web.

• 🔗 Link: Typeface raises $65M Series A led by Lightspeed Venture Partners to build an AI-powered dashboard for drafting marketing copy and images.

• 🔗 Link: A16z leads a $200M investment into Character.ai, to generate conversation in the style of various characters, including Tesla chief executive Elon Musk and Nintendo character Mario, from user prompts. The chatbot company was founded by Noam Shazeer and Daniel De Freitas, who previously built Google’s conversational model LaMDA. It's reached a $1B valuation in less than 6 months (!)
