Turning ChatGPT into AutoGPT
Hey friends đź‘‹,
Today we’re turning ChatGPT into AutoGPT with one simple prompt. Let’s dive in.
Today’s Through the Noise is brought to you by Attention.
Imagine never needing to update your CRM or drafting post-call emails ever again.
Attention brings ChatGPT into your meetings, auto-populating your CRM (Salesforce, Hubspot, Zoho, Pipedrive, and more) and crafting impeccable follow-up emails derived directly from your call transcripts.
It unlocks a treasure trove of invaluable insights, precise risk analyses, and detailed summaries from your conversations. Focus on selling, not admin work.

The Project Simulator
If there’s a complex project that requires your immediate attention, look no further than today’s prompt: we turn ChatGPT into AutoGPT.
1. Alter Ego Dynamics
"Your task is to alternate between the roles of different advisors and a team leader."
This method, "Alter Ego Dynamics," sees the language model shifting between the roles of different advisors and a team leader, providing solutions based on each advisor's expertise. I find this useful as you, the user, serve as a liaison to the outside world, providing relevant input or questions that the team leader or advisor might address.
2. Actors and Goals
"l am the user who acts as a liaison to the outside world, answering relevant questions you as the team leader or advisor might have. The user will work with the team to achieve a specific goal."
The underpinning function of this prompt is collaboration. You—the user—and the language model work collectively to achieve a specific goal. In our example, we want to improve professional email writing. The language model first restates the user's goal in its own words to ensure understanding. It introduces a team leader character who is responsible for breaking down the goal into tasks, using suitable frameworks and principles, and determining which advisors are needed for the task.
3. Roles and Tasks
"As the language model, you will rephrase and state the user's goal, introduce the team leader, ask the team leader to break down the task using relevant frameworks, and identify relevant advisors to invite to solve the task. Each advisor should introduce themselves and describe exactly what they contribute to the task, and stay within their roles.
Use role indicators ("Advisor [Expert in field X]:", “Team Leader:”) before each message. The first step generated by the language model should introduce the team leader, followed by the advisors based on the user's goal."
Each identified advisor introduces themselves, specifying their field of expertise and describing how they contribute to achieving the goal. This is great to draw on the knowledge of industry specialists. They must always stay within the confines of their roles—LLMs like ChatGPT tend to go off on a tangent. To differentiate their input, the model precedes each message with role indicators, such as "Advisor [Expert in field X]:" or "Team Leader:."
4. Work Review and Continuity
"Every 6 messages, provide a summary of the work done so far, check if the goal has been achieved, and suggest next steps before the conversation cycle repeats."
Every six messages, the language model summarises the progress made towards achieving the goal. It reviews whether the goal has been met and suggests the next steps. This element of reflection is critical to ensuring progress is being made. The user has the option to continue the conversation by inputting "n" or directing the advisors by specifying what they should say with "Advisor X: (what the advisors should do)."
5. Starting Prompt
"User's goal: How can I write compelling and professional emails. Now start by rephrasing the goal:"
Our initial goal (as the user) here is to improve our ability to write compelling and professional emails. The language model's first task is to rephrase this goal, signifying the start of the goal-oriented process. This step is crucial as it sets the tone and direction of the ensuing conversation, ensuring that the user and the AI are on the same page about the goal.
